Turn on AutoFill

  • Open Oath and follow the AutoFill step, or open Oath’s Settings → AutoFill.
  • Or go to the iPhone’s Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords and turn on Oath. You can leave Apple Passwords or another app turned on too.
  • AutoFill for codes and passwords is part of Oath Pro. Signing in with a saved passkey is free.
  • For a code to be suggested automatically, the item needs the website you sign in to. Open the code, add or check its website, and try again. You can also pick any code from the list above the keyboard.

Add your first code

  • On the website, turn on two-factor authentication and choose “authenticator app”. It shows a QR code.
  • In Oath, tap + → Scan and point the camera at the QR code. You can also choose a screenshot, or type or paste the setup key.
  • Enter the six-digit code from Oath on the website to finish. Save the recovery codes the website gives you somewhere safe.

Purchases

Restore a purchase

Open the Oath Pro screen or Settings and tap Restore, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy.

Cancel or change a subscription

On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Oath. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Request a refund

Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Backups and moving to a new iPhone

  • In Oath, open Settings → Sync & backup → Export backup and choose Encrypted backup. Pick a password you won’t forget; we can’t recover it.
  • On the new iPhone, open Oath, tap + → Import, choose the backup file and enter its password.
  • Coming from another authenticator? Import supports Google Authenticator export QR codes, 2FAS, Aegis, Ente Auth, Proton Authenticator, Bitwarden, Apple Passwords or Chrome CSV files, and otpauth:// links.

Troubleshooting

A website says my code is wrong

Codes depend on the time. Make sure Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically is on, then try the next code. If it still fails, the website may have been set up with a different key: turn two-factor authentication off and on again on the website and scan the new QR code.

Oath isn’t suggested above the keyboard

Check that Oath is on in Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords, that Oath Pro is active, and that the item has the right website. Some sign-in pages don’t mark their code field for AutoFill; you can still copy the code from Oath.

I deleted a code by mistake

Open Settings → Trash in Oath. Deleted items can be restored for 30 days.

I can’t add more items

The free version keeps up to 10 codes, 25 passwords and 10 passkeys. Items in Trash don’t count. Oath Pro removes the limits.
